How to Take a Screenshot with Windows Vista

[digg-reddit-me]I thought I would share how to take a screenshot using Windows Vista, because I have been trying to figure this out forever and I finally have it down!  I used a screenshot for this post, and after writing it, I thought that maybe it would be useful to someone else.  Or maybe this is rudimentary to all of you and I’m just blowing smoke out my bum, but whatever.

Have you been trying to use the prt sc button on your computer then trying to paste it in Paint, only to have it do absolutely nothing for you?  Well, that’s what was happening to me. Windows Vista, however, has a nifty little tool that will let you take a screenshot of an image quickly and easily.

Here’s what you do:

    nice tool, but maybe your print screen button doesnt work. i use it all the time. maybe try alt – print screen?

    Hi Justin, thanks for your comment. I think it has to do with my prt sc button not being where it is on normal computers. It’s in a little box under the Insert key. I have pushed alt, ctrl, shift, and every combination. But anyway, I thought Snipping Tool was nifty and might help someone in the same boat as me? Thanks again for your comment; have a great week!
